Hi Friend,

If you could use one word to describe your current emotional state, what would it be? Reply to this email with your word as I’d love to know where you are at!

From what I’ve heard from a few of you through Instagram DM or through this newsletter community though is that this year has felt like a lot, both in the world and in our own lives.

There’s more uncertainty, yet also more responsibility. And that can feel like a lot. As if there’s more and more tabs being open in our mental browser and yet, nothing quite gets closed.

Sometimes I don’t even realize I’m overwhelmed until I have some tell tale signs — feeling more fidgety, not being able to focus, or just how I move so quickly from one thing to the next without really being present for any of it.

That’s actually the impetus for this week’s YouTube video.

I needed a moment of calm, of clarity, and to allow myself the peace I deserve.

What I realized through the journaling practice this week is that it isn’t that everything in life felt overwhelming, it’s just one or two things in my life that I had to fully come to terms with. When I finally let go (and I got a little emotional as I was journaling!), it allowed me to soften and give an audible sigh of relief.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, maybe you don’t need a full life reset and all you really need is just a few quiet minutes and a blank page, so you too can let out your own sigh of relief.

I challenge you this week to sit down with a pen and paper and allow yourself to just be with you. Instead of thinking about the next task you need to get done, allow for a different kind of ‘productive’ — one that’s more quiet. 📝

I hope this week’s video feels like we’re sitting next to each other and doing this together as friends. 🫶

This is just your gentle reminder to allow yourself to slow down and check in with yourself.

Sending lots of love this week,

Rachel
