Hi Friend,
We’re in such an era of habit stacking, doing more, optimizing, AI(!) that in an effort for us to be our most productive, best, efficient, maximized selves, we can very easily burnout.
I am all about efficiency and creating systems (it’s how my brain operates naturally) but I’ve sometimes found myself feeling like if I’m not checking off enough boxes, then well I feel like I’m falling behind. But what is behind anyway? Behind according to whom and what timelines? The only timelines that actually exist are in our minds — and well sometimes our minds be playing tricks on us! 🤪
And when I buy into those timelines, that’s when I notice burnout creeping in. That “burnout” feeling looks different for me now. It’s not quite as obvious. I notice it most when I feel productive, yet not present. I finished some major deliverables recently for work and while I felt a sense of accomplishment, I also felt a sense of “Where did the day go?” “What time is it?” And felt a bit dazed and disoriented. I was working so fast and so efficiently that I didn’t go on my daily walks, I didn’t take a proper rest period during the day like I usually do, I didn’t connect with friends in the ways that I know energize me. I was so busy optimizing and checking off boxes that I didn’t remember to just slow down a bit.
So for the remainder of this week, I’m gently holding myself with more compassion and care — and I hope this is a reminder for you too to do the same.
Some ways I’m going to add more presence (to my mornings) especially:
💧 Replenish myself with a big warm glass of water in the morning (before I do anything else)
👣 Practice grounding for a few minutes in the grass and appreciate some natural vitamin D (before the Texas heat gets to me!)
💄 Start the day with a little makeup (I’ll be recording a podcast and if you’ve been following my newsletter mentions over the past couple weeks, I’m in an era of trying to be a little more put together lol)
How will you add a few slow moments of presence this week? Press reply, I’d love to know!
Rachel

📖 Know
A systematic review + meta-analysis found that micro-breaks (short pauses during the workday) are associated with better well-being and can also support performance, especially for tasks that require sustained attention. In other words: stepping away briefly isn’t “falling behind,” it can actually help your brain recover and stay sharper.

🌱 Begin
Before you start your next task, do this mini reset: stand up, do 10 squats, drink water, and come back. That’s it. One pause between tasks = one tiny return to presence and caring for your well-being.

Skincare built by longevity scientists — not marketers
Most skincare addresses what happens after your skin ages: the appearance of wrinkles, loss of visible firmness, and dullness. But four PhD longevity scientists asked a different question: what if you could target the cellular process that causes visible aging in the first place?
Their answer is OS-01, the first peptide scientifically proven to address senescent cells — the damaged "zombie cells" that accumulate with age and accelerate visible skin decline. The result: the first topical clinically validated to address visible skin aging at the source. In a double-blind 12-week clinical study of OS-01 FACE:
100% of users showed improved overall appearance
96% improved visible firmness
87% showed improvement in the appearance of wrinkles
Barrier strength improved 15%
This isn't skincare with better marketing. It's skincare with better science. And real results.
