Hi Friend,

Energy can take on many forms, whether it’s physical, emotional, or mental (there are so many other forms of energy that I will dive into in another week!). It can show up as racing thoughts, a short fuse, or that low-grade “ugh” feeling you can’t quite name.

Have you ever actively paid attention to your own energy each day? Not just how much you have but how you’re using it?

On an ordinary day, we spend energy doing things that don’t look like “effort” at all: scrolling, watching Netflix, hunching over our laptop for hours, melting into the couch. And sometimes those moments are exactly what we need but other times, they leave us feeling even more depleted — physically and emotionally.

Lately I’ve been actively asking myself: what if I brought a little more intention into the way I move through the most normal parts of my day? Sitting up a bit straighter. Letting my shoulders soften. Feeling my feet on the ground. Gently waking up my core — even while I’m doing something “restful” (like scrolling 😆)

And what’s surprised me with this very small intentional practice is how quickly my inner experience changes, too. When my body activates just a tiny bit more and comes online, my thoughts feel a little less anxious and my mind gets a little bit more clear. Try it out!

It’s amazing how much our energy changes when we stop checking out of ourselves and start checking back in.

📖 Know

Research shows your body position feeds information back to your brain. In one study, people who sat in an upright posture (vs. a slumped posture) reported more positive emotion, less fear, and higher self-esteem — even while doing a mildly stressful task. This is a reminder that energy isn’t just physical; posture and muscle tone can nudge your thoughts and mood, too.

🌱 Begin

Pick one “default posture” cue you’ll use all day (choose just one to make it easy on your brain to remember):

- feet flat on the floor

- shoulders down + back

- chin slightly tucked (elongate your neck).

Every time you notice you’re slumping, return to your cue of choice and take one natural breath with your ribs expanding. Let it be the gentle “I’m back” signal to your body to re-activate into the present moment.
